Was one among the privileged few hundreds who had the luck of watching the most hyped up, most awaited, most sensational Tamil movie ever to be released before it was actually released! Which movie am I talking about, what else other than the great "Sivaji The Boss". Went to the special night show, yesterday (14th June) in Rohini theatre complex even before the movie was released everywhere else on 15th morning.
It’s at last here. What you’ve been waiting for. Took a long time, but i am happy its here. Thanks to "lyrics and songs" and Tbabu website and a few other blogs and little bit of listening and correction, I guess the lyrics for madai thiranthu as below are almost right. Anna Nagar’s own Vishvesvaraya Tower Park came into the news on the 18th of October 2006 when a nursery school kid from DAV School (Anna Nagar) drowned and died in a shallow, rainwater filled pool/tank in Tower Park. She along with her class mates had been brought to the park by her school teachers for a mini picnic. Complete details of the incident can be read here and here.
This incident sparked a big flutter among the media, the residents of Anna Nagar and the people who frequent the park on the lack of maintenance and the bad state of the Tower Park. The government quickly reacted to cover up and started, what initially looked like a massive restoration and maintenance exercise of the Tower Park.
My second post on music heh! Well this time it’s not about copied or ripped music but a post of acknowledgement and praise to a band called “Yogi-B & Natchatra” a band from Malaysia who have released their debut album “Vallavan” (not to be confused with our simbu).
Finally got the chance to listen to songs from simbu’s forthcoming movie “Vallavan”. I was pretty excited about this after seeing the repeated advertisements in “The Hindu” and seeing wall posters thanking all the fans and radio stations for making the movie songs such a big hit. Also another reason for me to be excited was the music was by yuvan Shankar raja who is so promising, his mixes and melodies have been so good in his recent movies.
But after listening to the songs (one of the songs) all the high quality and the belief I had on yuvan came crashing down. Read the rest of this entry »
